The Hama Smart Home Hub combines both functions: as a central interface, it can both integrate Hama devices with different wireless technologies into your smart home and, as a Matter controller, allow smart Matter products to communicate with each other - like an interpreter that understands and translates different "smart home languages". The Matter hub for your smart home system
The smart home hub is not only used to combine the two wireless standards ZigBee and Thread, it also integrates all devices connected to it into the Matter network. This means you can also use a ZigBee lamp, a Thread socket in all Matter-compatible systems. For example, do you use a smart home system such as Apple Home, Samsung Smart Things, Google Home or Home Assistant and want to control products with it that are not compatible with your system for the time being? The Smart Home Hub integrates both ZigBee and Thread devices into your network. This means it works as a ZigBee bridge and Thread border router at the same time and acts as a bridge between non-Matter-compatible devices and a Matter-based smart home system. The smart wireless translator
ZigBee and Thread are popular wireless standards for battery-powered smart home products such as sensors or lights, as they are more energy-efficient than Wi-Fi - making them better suited for devices that require long runtimes without frequent battery changes. These devices do not normally communicate directly with your WLAN router or mobile phone as they use different wireless protocols. The Smart Home Hub, on the other hand, receives the signals from your ZigBee or Thread devices and translates them into a format that is understood by your WLAN network and your control devices - such as your mobile phone or tablet.
Conversely, the Smart Home Hub makes it possible for your ZigBee and Thread devices to be "visible" on your network and for you to operate them via your mobile phone or tablet. The hub takes these devices out of their isolation and makes them part of your smart home ecosystem - so you can manage the products centrally and together with your other smart home devices and have them communicate with them.
Reliable and unobtrusive
As you control, combine and manage your smart products via the Smart Home Hub, it is essential that this smart centre has a stable and continuous Internet connection. With the integrated LAN interface, you can connect the Smart Hub directly to your local network - for example to the router or other network connections in the house or apartment. This makes the Smart Home Hub less susceptible to interference or connection problems than wireless networks.
Can you never have enough sockets? If you also need to economise on power sockets: the Smart Home Hub does not require its own socket, but can be powered directly from the router via USB. You can then hide the hub - it communicates completely invisibly and unobtrusively, but always reliably!

Whether Thread, ZigBee, WLAN or Matter, whether Hama or another manufacturer: Create scenes and make your life more enjoyable: Would you like your smart garden lighting to only light up at certain times, for example only at night or when you are at home? No problem, simply programme time intervals and the outdoor system only lights up when it should.
Automations with other Smart Home products
The Smart Home Hub offers you a wide range of options for linking other smart home devices and triggering automations. For example, you can create a presence simulation by linking your WLAN camera with various light sources: if the camera detects movement in the garden at night, your bedside lamp switches on 10 seconds later, then the light in the stairwell, 10 seconds later the light in the living room and finally the garden lighting. They simulate that someone has woken up and is looking around the garden. In combination with the automatic recording and the notification function, the surveillance camera becomes an alarm system including a deterrent function for you. It doesn't matter whether you only use Hama products or combine different brands and wireless standards.
