WiFi retrofit switch - the smart solution
The Hama WiFi retrofit switch is the most elegant solution for anyone who would like to anchor smart home technology firmly in their home. Instead of buying WiFi sockets and light bulbs, or taking a circuitous approach using hubs, you simply retrofit the existing electrical installation in your home with the WiFi module: The retrofit module is installed directly in the feed lines, and controls the power supply of sockets, light switches and lamps by app or voice commands.
Smart home upgrade for electrical devices
The WiFi module is installed wherever you would like to benefit from the convenience of voice or app control. This may be behind sockets and light switches, in junction boxes or directly in the ceiling lamp for a convenient way to switch on and off your lamps, light chains, fans or the pool pump outside in the garden. The module is universally suitable for all switch systems – there merely has to be sufficient space for the module at the installation location. You thus save yourself having to buy many individual WiFi components, such as WiFi light bulbs, which have to be replaced when at the end of their service life, and you create a sustainable smart home.
Simple installation without a hub
Many smart home products require an additional gateway that functions as a transmitter between the wireless network and device. Without this gateway (also bridge or hub), a connection cannot be established between the smartphone/tablet and smart device (smartphone/tablet – WiFi – gateway/bridge – smart device). Here, Hama has a clever and practical solution: The WiFi retrofit switch can be installed without a gateway and integrated directly into your wireless network – this simplifies installation and saves additional costs.
To set up the WiFi switch, you need a device that runs under Android 4.3 or iOS 8 (or higher), and has the Hama Home app installed. The switch can then be connected to Amazon Alexa or the Google Home system, and is ready to receive voice commands.
Convenient control
Whether from the couch at home, or when you are away from home – with the Hama Smart Home system, you have full control. By giving commands to Alexa or the Google Assistant, you can switch on and off devices for which power flows via the WiFi retrofit switch. If the voice assistant is out of earshot, you simply use the app for this purpose. When on your way to your holiday destination, you can use the app to make certain that your lighting or fan is switched off, for example.
In addition, it is possible to set up various switch schedules for time control: You can set up your system so that the lighting switches on and off again as of a particular time, for example; or you might want to have fans switch off automatically after a set time period.
Therefore, there are no limits on your creativity when setting up a smart home to suit your exact wishes.

All Hama Smart Home products can now be controlled not only with Alexa and Google Assistant, but also with the Siri voice assistant.
1. Create a scene
The Siri Shortcuts function allows previously created smart scenes to be controlled. To do this, create a corresponding scene as usual that you want to activate via Siri. This process works unchanged.
2. Open Siri Shortcuts
On the overview page with all the programmed scenes, you will find the new "Siri Shortcut" button at the bottom right. Tap it.
3. Select the scene you want
Now a page opens where you have the option to add your scenes to a Siri Shortcut. To do this, press the plus sign next to the corresponding scene.
4. Create a shortcut
Now you can create the corresponding shortcut. To do this, define which command in the wording is to be used to start this scene. For example, you can turn your living room into a home cinema with just one short command.
Additional tip: To control individual devices via Siri, simply create short scenes that are only responsible for switching on, off or even switching over the individual device and add them to Siri accordingly.
